Motor Intervention Strategies for Children with Writing Difficulties

Some children in pre-school and/or those just starting school who are developing normally, as well as many children in at-risk and developmentally delayed groups (autism, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, etc.), experience difficulties with fine motor skills, leading to problems with holding a pen correctly and writing (illegible handwriting, inability to sustain writing, difficulty holding a pen, grasping issues, inability to align writing, etc.). In particular, pupils aged 5–7 and those in Years 1 and 2 of primary school require timely and effective motor intervention programmes to address these issues.

Course Content:

Through this training programme, participants will acquire the knowledge and skills related to the learning objectives listed below:

• Explaining concepts related to the motor development process accurately,
• Identifying difficulties with pencil grip and writing observed in children,
• Applying skill-based interventions for difficulties with pencil grip and writing,
• Applying process-based interventions for difficulties with pencil grip and writing,
• Be able to use developmental and compensatory strategies (assistive technology),
• You will acquire the knowledge and skills to analyse and adjust environmental factors during the writing process.

Training Materials and Certificate Information:

Written materials relating to the training content will be provided. At the end of the training, a certificate of attendance titled “Motor Intervention Strategies for Children with Writing Difficulties” will be issued.

Who Can Attend the Training:

The training is open to professionals working with children with developmental delays (special needs teachers, occupational therapists, child development specialists, pre-school teachers, physiotherapists, psychologists, and class teachers).

Duration: 3 Hours

Note to Participants:

Participants are required to pay half or the full amount of the training fee into the account details provided below by 17:00 on 30 August 2018. The remaining balance may be paid by the day of the training or on the day itself.

Requests for participation, cancellation, or refunds of the training fee will not be accepted after the registration date specified in the training content.

In the event of a training cancellation due to a reason attributable to ÇADEM PSİKOLOJİ, participants’ fees will be refunded within 15 days of the cancellation date.
