Motor Intervention Programme for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Although the diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder do not include deficits in motor skills, research has shown that children diagnosed with ASD experience delays in motor development and underperformance in motor skills tests compared to their peers. Although motor programmes offer an opportunity to enhance the movement capacity of children with ASD, provide opportunities for social interaction, and reduce repetitive movements, this topic is often overlooked by researchers, specialists and families.

Course Content:

Through this training programme, participants will acquire the knowledge and skills related to the following learning objectives:

• Explain common misconceptions regarding motor development
• Identify evidence-based principles for developing motor skills
• Apply motor development theories to a motor intervention programme
• Describe the motor and movement characteristics of children with ASD
• Apply motor assessment methods
• Identify the components of a motor intervention programme for children with ASD
• Apply strategies for motor skill acquisition in children with ASD during sessions
• Implement the activities included in the motor intervention programme with children with ASD.

Training Materials and Certificate Information:

Written materials relating to the training content will be provided. At the end of the training, a certificate of attendance titled “Motor Intervention Programme for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder” will be issued. 

Who Can Attend:

The training is open to professionals working with children with developmental disabilities (physiotherapists, physical education teachers, occupational therapists, special needs teachers, child development specialists, and pre-school teachers).

Fee: 400 TL

Requests for participation, cancellation, or refunds of the training fee will not be accepted after the registration date specified in the training content.

In the event of a training cancellation due to a reason attributable to ÇADEM PSİKOLOJİ, participants’ fees will be refunded within 15 days of the cancellation date.
