Aquatherapy and Swimming Programme for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

The aim of this training is to enhance the knowledge and skills of professionals working with children with OSB—who have a more limited range of movement compared to their peers—in supporting their gross motor skills, improving their physical fitness levels, and helping them learn swimming skills they can use throughout their lives, by utilising the hydrodynamic properties of water. In this context, the programme will cover the dynamic properties of water, models for adapted aquatic interventions, individualised education programmes, special needs and adaptation, aquatic techniques, the results of research on aquatic interventions, transfer techniques and grips, individual and group training, and the delivery of aquatic intervention sessions.

Course Content:

Topics covering the theoretical foundations of the course;

• Dynamic properties of water
• Models for adapted aquatic interventions
• Personalised training programme
• Special needs and adaptation
• Aquatic techniques

Topics covering the practical pool-based aspects of the training;

• Transfer techniques & grips
• Individual & group training
• Preparatory swimming games and activities

Training Materials and Certificate Information:

Written materials relating to the training content will be provided. At the end of the training, a certificate of attendance titled “Aquatherapy and Swimming Training Programme for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder” will be issued.

 Who Can Attend the Training:

The training is open to professionals working with children with developmental disabilities (physiotherapists, physical education teachers, coaches, occupational therapists and special needs teachers).

Duration: 12 hours

Participants are required to pay half or the full amount of the training fee into the account details provided below by 17:00 on 30 August 2018. The remaining balance may be paid by the day of the training or on the day itself.

Requests for participation, cancellation, or refunds of the training fee will not be accepted after the registration date specified in the training content.

In the event of a training cancellation due to a reason attributable to ÇADEM PSİKOLOJİ, participants’ fees will be refunded within 15 days of the cancellation date.
