Existential Analysis and Logotherapy Practical Training

The Valueİstanbul Logotherapy Institute was established to provide services in the promotion, training and practical application of Viktor Frankl’s Existential Analysis and Logotherapy approach in our country.

The Valueİstanbul Logotherapy Institute is accredited by the Viktor Frankl Institute Vienna.

The Valueİstanbul Logotherapy Institute was established through a joint initiative by Dr Özkan Kenarlı of ÇADEM Psychology and Dr Erkan Kalem of Verba Mea Existential Psychology.

The training programme consists of two parts: Basic Training and Advanced Training.

Participants who complete the Basic Training are awarded a certificate in “Basic Training in Existential Analysis and Logotherapy” by the Valueİstanbul Logotherapy Institute;

Participants who complete both the Basic Training and the Advanced Training are awarded the internationally recognised “Associate in Logotherapy” certificate, approved by the Viktor Frankl Institute in Vienna, by the Valueİstanbul Logotherapy Institute.

2024 Long-Term Training Programme in Existential Analysis and Logotherapy: Foundation Course 

The Long-Term Training Programme in Existential Analysis and Logotherapy: Foundation Course, commencing in September 2024, will be delivered by Dr Özkan Kenarlı.

The course is scheduled to run from September 2024 to January 2024, comprising 15 weeks and 30 hours. During this period, sessions will take place online via Zoom on the third Wednesday of each month, from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm. Participants are expected to have their cameras on.

Course Content and Schedule

The Foundation Level training will cover the topics listed below, presented through case studies and discussions.

Trainer 

Özkan Kenarlı completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counselling at Istanbul University in 2001. Between 2004 and 2007, he completed a Master’s degree in Guidance and Psychological Counselling; he subsequently completed a PhD in Guidance and Psychological Counselling at İnönü University. In 2014, he founded Çadem Psychology. He currently works as a psychotherapist and manager at Çadem Psychology.

Between 2011 and 2014, he received training in Logotherapy at the “Viktor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy” in Israel. He has been awarded the title of “Diplomate in Logotherapy”, which grants her the authority to teach in the field of Logotherapy, by the Viktor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy in Texas, USA. As the founder of the Value Istanbul Logotherapy Institute, he provides training and supervision in Existential Analysis and Logotherapy. 

He has taught various departmental courses at the Guidance and Psychological Counselling Department of Yıldız Technical University; delivered Family Counselling training at the Istanbul University Centre for Continuing Education; and provided Clinical Psychology Supervision training at Arel University. He continues to teach in mental health departments at various state and private universities. He provides individual or group supervision to professionals working in the field of mental health.

Certificate

Full attendance at the training course is mandatory to qualify for the certificate.

At least 12 of the weekly assignments must be completed.

Participants who meet all the requirements will be awarded the internationally recognised certificate “The Basic Training in Victor Frankl’s Logotherapy”, approved by the Vienna Viktor Frankl Institute and issued by the Valueİstanbul Logotherapy Institute.
